World Record Guidelines

When Joel at the F1 RC Club in the Philipines set the original record they were all just having fun. We wanted to continue the fun theme but thought if we wrapped some guidelines around it then we could challenge others around the world to give it a go. Little did we imagine that Australia would only hold the record for 2 weeks before Paolo and the keen guys in Italy showed us how it's done!

So here are the guidelines:

• Only F1 cars that are fully legal under the local F1 rules may participate. For example; if the local rules state that 21.5 motors must be used then only cars with those motors can participate in the record. We used the Australian F1 Rules.
• The race duration must be whatever is normal for F1 at the track hosting the attempt. Minimum of 5 minutes. If qualifying and finals use two different durations then the organisers may choose one. For example if a 6 minute qualifier and a 15 minute final is normally run then the organisers may choose to run for 6 minutes or for 15 minutes. We used 6 minutes.
• It doesn't matter how many cars start, a car must cross the finish line under it's own power at the end of the race to be counted.
• You must video the race and post either the entire race, or a highlights video, on the Internet. Preferably shot from a fixed point with a good view of the entire track and the start/finish line.
