How to Not Blow Motors
Most countries that race F1 use Blinky mode on the ESC which means that the ESC is unable to adjust motor timing during the race. This reduces the complexity of motor and ESC setup. For an explanation of Blinky ESC's, gearing and how not to blow your motor when using a Blinky ESC check out our A-Z of Gearing with Blinky ESC's article.
Here's an article I wrote aimed at the Boosted touring car classes entitled "How to Not Blow Motors". If your club / country allows Boost in F1 (ie; the ESC is able to adjust motor timing during the race electronically), or if you also run another class which allows Boost, then you might find this interesting. Enjoy!
